Jethro Tull-Living In The Past

original

Jethro Tull is another of my favorite bands. I had about 15 of their records at one time some of which were sold and two cassettes and one CD J-Tull Dot Com. their last recording from 1999.I also had their 5 record box set but it was sold in 2013. Named after a 17th century British agriculturist, they started out as a Blues based band led by guitarist Mick Abraham who left after the first record and started his own band Blodwyn Pig. Living In The Past is another early record of mine purchased in 1972 when it came out and was the first Tull album I bought. More were soon to follow. The cover of this two record set has an old photo album look to it similar to Jefferson Airplanes Worst Of album. It also comes with a 12 page booklet with lots of photos. The record has four album tracks, many non LP singles that were released only in the U.K.,one side of two live recordings from a Carnegie Hall concert in 1970,and fives songs released as a U.K. only EP from 1971. All 4 sides are great although side three with the two live tracks was played the least. The title track was a top 40 hit and what led e to but the record. Although I was just starting to listen to FM radio at that time there was still a lot of AM radio played at my house either by me or my sister on Wilmington’s AM station WAMS. I guess side two was my favorite with “Sweet Dream”,”The Witches Promise” and “Teacher”. The cover is in fair condition and the records are scratchy sounding with a few skips. As with all my earliest records this was first played on my parents Webcor record player and later their Electrophonic stereo with built in record player and 8-track player. Not the best equipment.
