Jefferson Starship-Earth

This is their fourth album from the band released in early 1978. It had two more soft rock hits “Count On Me” and “Runaway”. The opening track “Love Too Good” was played on Fm radio a bit and is the only song on it I really liked, although “Runaway” has grown on me and I actually put it on my playlist. “All Night Long” written in part by Paul Kantner, his only writing contribution,is not too bad but the rest of the album is.This is a used one I bought at a record store in Delaware for a dollar five or six years ago. The lettering on the album is slightly raised and has a shiny aluminum foil look to it. The previous owner had his name, address, and phone number written on the ST of Starship. Someone cut parts o it out, probably using an exacto knife, but some parts were still there. The street name ends in an X. I lived in Wilmington for about ten years and can’t think of any streets like that. When I lived in Philly I lived on Hendrix Street but I don’t think there is one in Wilmington. In November of 1978 they released a single “Light The Sky On Fire” with “Hyperdrive” from Dragon Fly as the B side. Only available with their Gold album, included as a 45. I did not know this but the song was originally used in the Star Wars Holiday Special shown on TV in November of 1978. I remember watching that in the apartment I was living at with three brothers shortly after I moved out of my parents house. We watched it on my 12 inch black and white TV which was all we had. I always wondered what that was, apparently it was never show again or officially released on video.
