The Jazz Butcher was a band from England comprising Pat Fish and Max Eider.I bought this used record in the late 80’s at a record store on the Main Line when I was living in Upper Darby. Not sure why I bought this one,I had never heard of the band, but it’s a pretty good one. The liner notes say the music was recorded in 1983-1986 with David J. and Kevin Haskins of Love And Rockets helping out on many of the tracks. The music could be called Punk or New Wave but there are many styles represented on this album.”Partytime” a Jazzy number with some tasty guitar is my favorite and is on my playlist. “Death Dentist” is very Punk sounding, while “The Devil Is My Friend” has an almost Bluegrass sound to it. Many of the tracks are humorous kind of like Robyn Hitchcock, some just bizarre like “Caroline Wheeler’s Birthday Present”. Apparently this album is out of print and never released on CD. I good find.
