The Jayhawks are an Alt-Country band from Minneapolis. I had three or four of their early records on cassette and one on CD. This is from 2016 and is without founding member Mark Olson. Gary Louris is now the leader and main songwriter. I had only listened to side one a few times and I liked most of it. Many of the songs have a 60’s pop sound to them others the usual Jayhawks sound to them. The first song on side two is decidedly un-Jayhawk like with a synthesizer beat and some Neil Young like fuzz guitar. My favorites were are on side one “Quiet Corners And Empty Spaces” and “Isabel’s Daughter”.
