The James Gang-Live In Concert

original

This was recorded at Carnegie Hall in May of 1971. It would be Joe Walsh’s last gig with the band before going solo and eventually joining The Eagles. It’s basically a Joe Walsh solo album with his awesome guitar solos dominating the record. He also plays organ and sings. The first three songs “Stop”,”You’re Gonna Need Me”,and “Take A Look Around” ,which all run together, show Joe playing some slow Blues and some Hendrix style guitar. On “Tend My Garden” he plays organ which is followed by the acoustic “Ashes, The Rain,And I.Side two has “Walk Away” one of their best known songs and an 18 minute cover of the Jeff Beck era Yardbirds song “Lost Woman”. This features more guitar solos and a bass solo. This is a record I bought in 1972 from a bin of new records that were selling for twenty-nine cents at a department store at the Concord Mall in Delaware. I remember buying four of those records of which I still have two. I never played this a lot ,the record sounds pretty good but the cover is not in good shape.
