This is a Scottish New Wave band who released this their only album in 1979. Another one I taped off the radio that same year.I saw this used copy in a record store and had to buy it having not heard it in over 20 years. The music sounds a lot like The Cars. Listened to it a few times when I was living in the city of Wilmington. It brings back memories of living in that house from the fall of ’79 to the spring of ’80 when I moved up to West Pittston to stay with my Aunt for a couple of months. My friend who was living there with me liked the song “The Ripper”. “The Shape Of Things To Come”,the opening track was released as a single which didn’t do very good but it’s as good as any other song of that type. Other songs I liked were “Kicking The Kans” with its fuzz toned 60’s style guitar,”Stepping Stones” and the sad “Silver Lining” with a nice piano and fiddle fade out. Calum Malcolm, the bands keyboard player went on to production work with other bands from Scotland like The Blue Nile,The Go-Betweens, Orange Juice, and Simple Minds. They recorded a follow up album but it was never released, finally seeing the light of day on CD in 2013.
