Head East-Live

This live album from 1979 has all their best songs on it,sounding better than the studio versions. This is another promo only issue from a radio station WHCL that I bought a few years ago. These radio station records are usual in good shape because they are not played much. Lots of harmony, always a plus for me,with the four other members of the band backing up lead singer John Schlitt. The sound is good with nice guitar by Mike Sommerville especially on “Every Little Bit Of My Heart” that is followed by “Get Up And Enjoy Yourself” another favorite. The best songs from their first album are also here “Never Been Any Reason”,”Love Me Tonight”,and “Jefftown Creek”. One surprise is the nearly perfect version, with three part harmony, of Three Dog Nights cover of the Lennon/ McCartney song “It’s For You” from their Live at the Forum album. I have never heard the original Beatles song. They are still touring today with one or two original members mainly in the Midwest where they are from.
