The second album from this group of musicians from the Canterbury Scene bands. Richard Sinclair is from Caravan, Dave Stewart from Egg, Pip Pyle from Gong, and Phil Miller from Matching Mole. They broke up after this record came out in 1975. This is a Jazz Rock album and although some songs have vocals by Sinclair they are very limited. “Share It”, the opening track, is the most radio friendly tune on the record with Sinclair’s distinctive English vocals making it sound like a Caravan Song. The rest of the side is mostly instrumental with Miller’s Jazz guitar and sax and flute by Jimmy Hastings also from Caravan. Side two is taken up with “Mumps” a 20 minute suite broken into four parts and is the highlight of the album. sounding more like the typical Canterbury Scene progressive composition. Overall a good record and a long one at 50 minutes. This is a used record I bought sometime in the 90’s and is an import on Virgin Records. All members played in The National Health at one time or another and had a couple of reunions in 1990 and 2005.
