Keef Hartley Band-Seventy Second Brave

Keef Hartley is a drummer who replaced Ringo in Rory Storm’s band and Mick Fleetwood in John Mayall’s band. He put his own band together in 1968. This is their last album from 1972. They play Blues with sax and flute similar to the Climax Blues Band. I bought this used about three years ago. The record and cover are in like new shape. There is a foreign looking name written on the record label and the date 22/Mar/74,maybe the date the record was purchased. The first track “Heartbreakin’ Woman” is one I had heard somewhere. The rest of side one I don’t like. Side two is better with a couple short instrumentals featuring sax and flute, the strange “Don’t Sign It” and “You Say You’re Together Now” a song written by Gary Thain and sung in an unusual voice. Thain would join Uriah Heep in 1973 and would die in 1975 of a heroin overdose at age 27.
