Sammy Hagar-Standing Hampton

Standing Hampton is British slang for an erection. This record is his sixth solo album since leaving Montrose in 1975 and the first to go platinum. This came out in early 1982 when I was still living in Havre de Grace. One of only a few records I bought while living there. We first lived in a efficiency apartment on the top floor of a house on the left as soon as you crossed the route 40 bridge in April of ’81.After six months we moved to a slightly bigger one bedroom house on Freedom Lane were we lived for another six months before moving to Newark De. The record is pretty good,I haven’t listened to it for a while. “Can’t Get Loose” and “Inside Lookin’ In” were the two songs I liked best. “There’s Only One Way To Rock” became one of his biggest hits and “Heavy Metal” was used in the film of the same name.”I’ll Fall In Love Again” was also a charting single. The record closes with “Piece Of My Heart” a cover of the song made famous by Big Brother & The Holding Company and sung by Janis Joplin.
