Grand Funk Railroad-Closer To Home

Original

This is their third album from and was released in 1970. This was another record I checked out from our schools record library.Liked it so much I bought it,probably around ’72 or ’73. A really good record and their best. I remember there was a TV show on in the early 70’s that played “videos”,just pictures of the band or film to go along with the song being played. “I’m Your Captain(Closer To Home)” was a song played on there to a backdrop of waves crashing on the beach and sailing ships on the ocean. I think the show was called Music Explosion and was on Saturdays. I always liked “Get It Together”,and “I Don’t Have To Sing The Blues”.”Aimless Lady” is also a song I really Liked. All the songs feature the prominent bass of Mel Schacher and Mark Farner’s guitar. Unfortunately the cover and record are in bad shape. Very scratchy sounding but no skips.
