Another great album from these Dutch Rockers. This is a compilation of songs from their 1971 album Seven Tears and ’72’s Together. These records are from the more Progressive period of the band. It came out in 1973 and I probably bought it in ’74 or ’75 when I was buying every Golden Earring record I could find. The record is on The Who’s Track Record label and was never released in the U.S., as were the two records it was compiled from. The record also has the song titles printed in Braille on the back cover over a photo of the band for some reason. The record starts off with “Jangalene” an acoustic song with harmonica before becoming electric at the end.”All Day Watcher” and “She Flies On Strange Wings”,a concert favorite are also great songs in the Progressive vein.Side two opens with “Silver Ships” a favorite of mine from the first time I heard it. This bass heavy song with flute by Barry Hay is about visitors from Outer Space. “Brother Wind” has more flute with an extended instrumental section featuring a good drum solo.”Hope” is more of a ballad with Hay playing some sax.
