The Gods-Genesis

The Gods were an English Psychedelic/Pop band formed in 1965. This is their first record from 1968 after a few singles. The players on this record are Joe Konas,John Glascock, who later played with Jethro Tull, and Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake who both formed Uriah Heep in 1970. Early members of the band were Mick Taylor and Greg Lake. The record sounds like what you would expect from a late 60’s Pop/Rock band with short songs. There are some songs I really like, “You’re My Life” is very catchy and could have been a hit,I also like “Misleading Colors”,”Candles Getting Shorter” “I Never Know” and “Time And Eternity”. Much of it sounds like Uriah Heep with Hensley’s keyboards and his and Kerslake’s vocals. I had this on CD in the 90’s but of course was sold in 2013. This vinyl re-issue came out on Record Store Day in 2015. I bought it in 2018 at 20% off. The cover is one of the first by Hipgnosis and the recording is in the original Mono.
