This is their third studio release from 1973.Their best selling record until Freeze Frame but I think Nightmares is their best record. “Give It To Me” was a song played on Top 40 AM radio in an edited form and prompted me to buy the record in 1973. One of my earliest records and the first on colored vinyl, this being on red. By this time they have perfected their sound,a kind of Funky Rocking Blues featuring prominent harmonica. All but two of the songs were written by Peter Wolf and Seth Justman. Besides “Give It To Me” that has the long extended fade out, “(Ain’t Nothing But A)House Party”,”Southside Shuffle”and “Back To Get Ya” are also good songs. The record sounds a little scratchy but no skips.
