On this record he is experimenting with World Music and rhythms.There are more good songs on this record like “San Jacinto”,”I Have The Touch”,”Lay Your Hands On Me” and “Kiss Of Life”. “Shock The Monkey” was a big hit and video.”The Rhythm Of The Heat” features some African drums. He has his usual cast of players helping him out, Tony Levin,Larry Fast,Jerry Marotta and Morris Pert.He also has Peter Hammill on backing vocals who Gabriel knew from his early Genesis days when Hammill’s group Van Der Graaf Generator, both on The Famous Charisma Label, toured together.
