This was recorded in 1968 and released in 1970. This is a 1987 reissue I bought in the early 90’s when I was living in Philly. Can’t remember if it was new or used. This band was formed in the mid 60’s, very political and lewd, composed of poets Ed Sanders,Tuli Kupferberg and drummer Ken Weaver. Their musical style is similar to The Mothers of Invention with every song given a comedic introduction. With songs like “Slum Goddess” and “CCD”(Coca-Cola Douche) they are rather x-rated. More of a novelty record than something you would listen to anytime. Cover is by Cal Shenkel who did most of Frank Zappa’s album covers.
