This album was released in September of 1971 after the band had broken up in April. These songs were recorded at two shows in London the following year. It starts off with “All Right Now” their best known song but it starts off not too good but ends ok. My favorite song on the album is “Be My Friend” a good rocker showing of Paul Rodgers voice. “Fire and Water” another one of their best songs closes out side one. The best song on side to is “The Hunter” a cover of a 1967 song written by Booker T and The MG’s. The song was also used in Led Zeppelin’s “How Many More Times” The album is designed like an envelope with a tab in the back closing it. Free broke up before this was released but reformed the next year putting out two more records. Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke went to Bad Company,Guitarist Paul Kossoff formed Back Street Crawler, but died in 1976. He had a long history of drug abuse. I bought this used,I don’t remember when.
