This came out in October of 1973,just 10 months after Penguin. Dave Walker was let go before the record was released and made no contribution to it.Not nearly as good as Penguin it does have some good songs. Side one starts off with “Emerald Eyes” a good Bob Welch song. “Just Crazy Love” by Christine McVie is her best song on the record, followed by “Hypnotized”, Welch’s best song for the band, which gets some airplay on FM radio.”Forever” is a song written by Welch,Weston, and John McVie while the last song was written by Welch but sung by McVie. Side two starts with three Welch tunes, the Bluesy “The City”, that sounds like it could be from the Peter Green period, and two more rockers that aren’t too good. The side closes with two more McVie songs and a cover of the Yardbirds hit “For Your Love”. While touring for the record it was learned that Bob Weston was having an affair with Fleetwoods wife Jenny Boyd, the sister of George Harrison’s wife Patty. He was fired and the band quit the tour. The bands manager put a fake Fleetwood Mac together to finish the tour.Lawsuits ensued and the matter was settled putting the authentic band back in control.
