Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite bands. They went through three distinct phases, this is their earlier blues period. Another record in the Collector Series this came out in 1987. As I have mentioned I have 26 of these records all double albums and usually packed with 90 to 100 minutes of music. This record covers the years 1968-1970 and has everything you would want from that time. The 23 songs on this record include covers of Blues legends Elmore James and Sonny Boy Williamson and originals by all three of the guitarist and singers Peter Green,Jeremy Spencer, and later Danny Kirwan. Great songs like “I Loved Another Woman”,”Black Magic Woman”(covered by Santana)”Love That Burns”,”Drifting”,”Man Of The World”,and “Albatross”all by Peter Green are heard throughout the four sides. Jeremy Spencer’s slide guitar is featured on tracks like “Lazy Poker Blues”,”Doctor Brown”,and “Rockin’ Boogie”. Danny Kirwan contributes the instrumental “Jigsaw Puzzle Blues”. I bought this record in 1987 used (at least it wasn’t shrink wrapped,as were all the records in this series. They are all imports from England or Germany. This one’s a little scratchy,it’s been played a lot,but no skips.
