The Fall-Live At The Witch Trials

Their debut album from 1979.A fairly new record for me, this is a 2016 re-issue of the original U.K. release. An interesting record, the sound is raw sounding sometimes like any Punk band of the time, sometimes like The Birthday Party, sometimes almost New Wave. Mainman Mark E Smith even attempts to sing on a few songs like the wonderfully titled “Rebellious Jukebox” and “Two Steps Back” with it’s simple keyboard chords that stick in my ear.”Music Scene” a dig at the music industry is also a good song. Some songs seem to be about drugs like “Like To Blow” and “Underground Medecin” but it’s hard for me to understand what he is saying. With over thirty albums in 37 years it’s rather prolific for a Rock bad. I had a cassette of one of their records from the 90’s. I don’t remember which it was.
