Sheila E., as she is known, is from the musical Escocvedo family that includes father Pete, uncle Coke, who were in Santana and Malo, and uncle Alexander who was in the band True Believers before going solo. Her niece is Nicole Richie who was adopted by Lionel Richie when she was 3. Like her father and uncle she is a percussionist and also a singer. This is her second record and you can hear Princes hand in the music. In fact he co-wrote “A Love Bizarre” and produced the record. That song is the best on the record and is a 13 minute funky jam with a lot of sax. “Sister Fate” the lead off track is not bad,but the rest of the album including all of side two I didn’t like very much. Another record I bought for a dollar just for the hell of it,I always like “A Love Bizarre” and Glamorous Life” her earlier hit.Record and cover are in good shape. Probably won’t be keeping this.
