Echo & The Bunnymen-The John Peel Sessions

Echo & The Bunnymen were from Liverpool and formed in the late 70’s and the original line-up was together for ten years. At that point singer Ian McCulloch quit and drummer Pete de Freitas was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 27. They later re-formed in the 90’s. One of my newest records this came out in Sept. 2019. A really great record, ,the sound is excellent on this two record set. I had only played side one once before and it has three of their most well known songs on it. “Villiers Terrace”,”The Pictures On My Wall”,and “All That Jazz” are the only songs on the record I had heard before and those songs are quite different from the ones on their records. The songs have a raw, stripped down sound to them ,the playing is really tight and economical.I listened to sides 1,2,and 3.Some other songs I liked upon first listen were “All My Colours”,”Taking Advantage”,and “Silver”.
