Eagles-Desperado

original

This record came out in 1973 and is their second record. Another record I did not buy but ended up in my collection. The initials T.J. on the label are probably for Tom Jenkins a co-worker and later manager of the steakhouse I worked at. I know he had the record, not sure how I ended up with it. The record has a theme of outlaws and the old west. The record starts off with” Doolin-Dalton”, an outlaw gang, “21” is the age of the youngest member of the gang. “Out Of Control” is the only rocker on the side and it closes with two ballads “Tequila Sunrise and “Desperado” songs I never liked. Side two is better, all the songs are good especially “Outlaw Man” one of my favorite Eagles songs. The photo on the back is a reenactment of the capture of the Dalton gang with the Eagles and Jackson Browne dead on the ground. Unfortunately the record is very scratchy with a few skips and is almost unplayable. This one will go in the trash. I will be looking for a used replacement.
