This is the first official album from this Australian Band. They did release a soundtrack to the Australian Film “Monkey Grip” credited to the band in 1982 before releasing this record in 1983. This is another record I bought after watching the video for “Boys In Town” on MTV back when they still played videos all day. The video was a live shot with lead singer Christine Amphlett in her trademark schoolgirl uniform and fishnet stockings. I loved this song the first time I heard it and the album did not disappoint. Side one is absolutely wonderful with “Boys In Town ” leading off followed by”Only Lonely”,”Science Fiction”,”Siren(Never Let You Go)”,and ends with “Elsie” a song about prostitution. Side two is not as good but does have the song “Ring Me Up” which can be heardv in the movie “16 Candles”. The side ends with “I’ll Make You Happy” a cover of a song by fellow Australian band The Easybeats. The Easybeats were a 60’s pop group led by George Young the older brother of Malcolm and Angus Young of AC/Dc fame.
