This album from Canadian band Destroyed was released in 2008 and I bought it used in 2015 from a record store in Delaware. Members Dan Bejar and John Collins are also in The New Pornographers, a band I really like. Bejar’s writing and singing are a little unusual,most of his vocals sound like he is singing in a Broadway musical. The instrumentation is very good and more traditional singing and songwriting might make this a better record. Having said that there are songs on here I do like. “Blue Flower/Blue Flame”,”My Favorite Year”.”Shooting Rockets(From The Desk Of Night’s Ape)” and “Libby’s First Sunrise” are all good songs,unfortunetly they are on three different sides of the record. I also like the cover painting which is why I picked the record out of the bin never having heard of the band before.
