Curved Air-The Best Of Curved Air

This was released in 1976 and has two songs from each of their first four albums. The first two songs feature Daryl Wolf’s Classical style violin especially on “Vivaldi”. Two from the second album “You Know” and “Back Street Luv” are rockers with some nice guitar on “You Know”. Side two has “Melinda(More Or Less)” and “Cheetah/Ultra Vivaldi” an instrumental by Wolf. These two come from the third album Phantasmagoria which I used to own. I bought it in the early 70’s mostly because it sports a “hookah smoking character” on the cover. The last two “Metamorphosis” and “The Purple Speed Queen” are from Air Cut. I bought this used at a record store in Allentown that I went to once. Not in the best shape but I had never seen this record before and it was only three dollars. They put out two more records after Air Cut with new drummer Stewart Copeland before disbanding in 1977. Copeland then formed the Police. He was also married to Sonja Kristina for a period of ten years. The band has re-formed over the years playing concerts and festivals with various members even putting out a record or two,the last one in 2014.
