Ian Astbury had a band called Southern Death Cult that he disbanded after a couple of years then added Billy Duffy in 1983 shortening the name to Death Cult and finally the Cult in ’84. This collection of singles has most of their best songs on it. They area good band,I like Astbury’s vocals and Duffy’s guitar work. Mostly hard rocking songs with an American Indian or spiritual theme to some of them. I had most of their releases on vinyl or cassette plus a six CD box set Rare Cult but sold them all, this is the only one I have now except for their newest record. I don’t see many used records of theirs for sale I have been looking for a copy of Love their second record. The band has broken up and re-formed many times with different members but Astbury and Duffy have been on every recording.
