The Comsat Angels-Chasing Shadows

This band is from England and this is their sixth album from 1987. They were forced to change their name The C.S. Angels in the U.S. for legal reasons, thus the blacked out letters. This is a very good record. Many of the songs have sparse instrumentation and are rather haunting or moody. I fell in love with two songs on side one “the Cutting Edge” and “Under The Influence” and immediately put them on one of my mix tapes in 1987. The other two songs on side one are just as good. Robert Palmer sings on side two’s opener “You’ll Never Know” and “Flying Dreams” another very good song is the most rocking on the record. Side two also has two ballad like songs “Lost Continent” and the piano heavy “Pray For Rain”. Another record bought with the Promotional Use Only Not For Sale stamped on it. I liked this record so much I went and looked for their older records buying three used ones over the years. While they all had some good songs none were as consistent as this one and I eventually sold them.
