The Civil wars were a duo consisting of Joy Williams and John Paul White. This was their second and last record from 2013. They play a Folk,Country,and Bluegrass mix. Two of the songs I like are “Same Old Same Old” and “Eavesdrop” which are love songs that remind me of some of Tracy Chapman’s songs. There is also a very different cover of The Smashing Pumpkin’s “Disarm”. They broke up after this record with Joy releasing some solo material.
