Big star is a somewhat mythical band from Memphis. Formed by Alex Chilton (from the 60’s band The Boxtops) and Chris Bell they broke up in 1975. This record was recorded in 1994 with Alex,drummer Jody Stephens, and 2 members of the Seattle band the Posies. They play all their best songs and a few covers including Todd Rundgren’s “SLUT” one of my favorites of his. The critics loved them but they never had any success. Jody is the only member of the original band still alive.
